Myopia Control For Children

Why myopia matters

Myopia is nearsightedness, where things far away look blurry. Currently, more than one-third of the US population has been diagnosed with myopia, and this number continues to increase at an alarming rate. Myopia increases as a child grows, and this can lead to quality of life adjustment, risk of retinal diseases such as retinal detachment, myopic maculopathy, and glaucoma. The goal of myopia management is to keep it from getting worse, and reduce associated risks.
